Let’s start with the best time to go to Kas, which is April-June and Sept-November. Summer is the high season, but it will be crowded and very hot.

Seasons and Average Temperatures

The hot season in Kas commences on June 12th and extends till September 23rd. Marked by an average temperature high of 26°C or greater. August is the hottest month in the region with an average high of 29°C while the low temperature during the same month is around 22°C. The warm season, on the other hand, spans from December 2nd to March 31st with temperatures scarcely touching 17°C on average. Kas’ chilliest month is January, with an average low temperature of 7°C and a high temperature of 14°C.

How to get to the Kas?

If you are planning to travel to Antalya’s Kas from Dalaman airport, it is approximately a 130 km journey and takes around 2.5 hours by car. From Antalya International Airport to Kas is around 200 km so it takes little bit more time to reach Kas.

You can either hire a taxi or rent a car from the Dalaman airport and drive directly to Kas along the D400 highway. Alternatively, you can also take a bus or shuttle from Dalaman airport to Fethiye, which is about an hour away from Kas. From Fethiye, you can catch a local bus or minibus to Kas. This is an economical option and is suitable for those who enjoy traveling on public transport. If you prefer to have more comfort and flexibility on the journey, we recommend that you hire a taxi or rent a car.

Whatever means of transportation you choose, the journey from Dalaman to Kas is one of the best ways to see the stunning Turkish coastline. Believe me you will not get bored during your transportation and it is all thanks to amazing view.

Where to Stay in Kas?

When it comes to finding a place to crash in Kaş, it’s all about what you’re into and how much you can dish out. Personally, I totally dig Peninsula Gardens Hotel. That sea view from the rooms is jaw-dropping, and the infinity pool and private beach—oh boy, don’t even get me started on those. It’s like you’re living the resort life! But listen, I also stayed at Hideaway Hotel on my last vacay with a bud and it was perfect for our budget.

The rooms were tidy and cozy, and chilling out in the garden area after a day of exploring was the bomb. The owner, Ali, was also super chill and gave us some solid recs for places to grub and things to do.

If location is a priority, check out Amphora Hotel. Being just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the main square and harbor makes things a breeze when it comes to island hopping. And if you’re after a more swanky stay, Cachet Hotel’s the joint for you. I didn’t call it home, but I did hit up the spa for a massage that was off the chain.

• Kaputas Beach: After looking at the postcards and thinking it’s impossible for the water to be that blue, I was pleasantly surprised to find a beach with stunning wave games. Kaputas is a place that shouldn’t be missed on the winding but beautiful road between Kas and Kalkan. It’s even promoted by some major touring companies in Europe as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Even though hundreds or thousands of people visit this little beach every year, there is another life in Kaputas that few know about.

• Patara Beach: A seemingly endless, undeveloped stretch of golden sand backed by ancient ruins and protected sea turtles. A person’s inner horse is awakened and compelled to run here.

• Limanagzi Beach: A peaceful and secluded pebbled beach with crystal-clear waters and a backdrop of lush green flora.

• Big Pebble Beach (Buyukcakil): I loved feeling the cool and refreshing water against my skin while admiring the beautiful pebbles beneath me. A bustling beach boasting a range of water sports and cafes with vibrant nightlife.

Take a Day Trip to Meis

You can reach this hidden gem of the Mediterranean with only a 20-minute ferry ride separating Kaş from Meis. This island, which is only 6km away from Turkey and 125km away from Greece, is only 11km2 in size and only a few hundred people live on the island.

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at one of the many seaside cafes to enjoy the laid-back Greek island life and breathe in the sea breeze. Explore the winding streets of the main town that leads to the humbling sight of an Orthodox church. Meis’ very own museum, where you can see the past unfold before you, is just a short walk away.

Shop at Uzun Carsi

“Uzun Çarşı” is a quaint, traffic-free street that runs parallel to rows of over 100-year-old Greek homes that have been preserved remarkably.

Today, it’s home to a variety of shops that sell authentic and upscale products. Many of the shop owners are city dwellers who moved to Kas years ago.

The narrow streets around the “Uzun Çarşı” are filled with cafes and bars. In the summertime, a large crowd gathers here, and you can explore the bars that offer live music or the cafes in the courtyards of old buildings. At the end of the street is the “Kral Mezarı” or the “King’s Tomb,” which greets you with all its magnificence as the largest sarcophagus in the center.

Take a boat tour

So, for each boat tour, you follow a similar plan. Make Inonu Bay your first stop early in the morning to check out the cool canyon and cave.

After that, you head to Aquarium Bay where you can snorkel and see the sea life getting more interesting. Stop for lunch and head to Tersane Bay to see cool historical artifacts lost due to earthquakes. You can do scuba diving and swim around there.

Next up is If you’re spending your vacation in Kas and taking a boat trip, you should definitely stop by Kalekoy.

When you visit Kalekoy, make sure to try the homemade ice cream at The I Am Here Cafe. They offer a variety of flavors. such as blackberry, lemon, peach, hazelnut, mint lemon, carob molasses, figs, banana, and many more. You can also enjoy some Turkish coffee or lemonade here, but once you try their ice cream, it’s unlikely that you will think of anything else. You get back around 6 p.m.

Experience Paragliding With An Amazing View

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and unforgettable views, then you’ve got to try paragliding in Kas. A fully trained pilot will guide you through the experience and ensure your safety, while you will be safely strapped to them.

The take-off point is at a height of around 600m, making for an even more thrilling experience. After roughly 25 minutes of flying, you’ll land gently back on solid ground, feeling invigorated and exhilarated.

I did my first paragliding here on this hill and the team was quite helpful. The wind current here is so beautiful that after jumping off, if you do not stray too far from the slope, you can stay in the air for a long time. And the view from above is truly exquisite.
